At Home and Abroad

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Years.  I was fortunate enough to see The Avett Brothers in downtown Charlotte on New Years Eve.  They were absolutely fantastic, as they are evey time I see them live.  I cannot wait for them to release their upcoming album.  Besides that, I spent a lot of time with my family, which was wonderful.  I’m throwing in a picture or two of my brother’s dog Banjo, who is a great dog and was very enjoyable to have around the house for a few days.

So, I am currently in Dublin, Ireland.  I will be here for the next few months studying abroad and having great fun.  I just wanted to give a shout to any that checks this blog to let them know me and my luggage arrived safely and entirely.

I’ve already met lots of great people, both local to Dublin and college kids from the states like me.  Through a somewhat random connection, I spent the first night here with an extremely hospitable Douglas family.  Laura, who picked me up from the airport and cooked me tons of good meals, drove me through the countryside of the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains.  It was a very beautiful and very relaxing drive, and I was so thankful to be able to see that part of the country since I’ll be spending the next few months in the city.  I snapped a few pictures… hope you enjoy them.

I’ll try to keep this thing updated, but bare with me.  Cheers.
